In this time's hymn study, we get to think on the wonderful words of verse three of the comforting hymn, “God Will Take Care of You,” written by Civilla D. Martin.
Here are the words to this verse:
All you may need He will provide,
God will take care of you;
Nothing you ask will be denied,
God will take care of you.
God will take care of you,
Through every day,
O’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
Oh, to think on these words! “All you may need He will provide.” The Scripture says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) All your need. If you need it, God will supply it. That is a promise. Luke 12:30b, 31 says, “Your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Also, Matthew 10:29-31 says, “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
“Thank You, God, that you care so much for us!” God created each sparrow, and He sees and He cares when the sparrow falls to the ground. And God says we are of more value than many sparrows. He cares so much for us that He knows the number of hairs that are on our heads. We are His children, and He is our loving Father who will take care of us with tenderness and compassion.
“Nothing you ask will be denied,” the song goes on to say. This line brings a couple of verses to mind. John 16:24b says, “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” Also, I John 5:14,15 says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” Wow! This seems almost too good to be true. But it is true because God said so. God is a loving Father. He knows what we need. When we pray to Him and ask Him for something and this is something we need, He will give it to us. “If we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.”
If you are facing trials today and it seems like they go on for a long time without anything being resolved, remember God is still taking care of you. Sometimes it is hard to see that. Little cares press relentlessly every day. Stressful situations seem to pop up out of nowhere. The body becomes tired and faint. But God sees what we cannot see. He knows the future, and He has all things in His hand. There is not one need or care or worry or situation that God does not know about. And He looks on us in tender care, much greater care than He gives many sparrows. God will take care of you.
God will take care of you,
Through every day,
O’er all the way;
He will take care of you,
God will take care of you.
May God give you all a wonderful weekend and encourage you all until next time.
