Was able to finish another t-shirt dress yesterday. This one is also embellished with a crocheted ruffle on the bottom and crocheted belt and belt loops. The flowers at the top are also crocheted and a button is added to the center of each as little decorative touch. These are lots of fun to make! You should try one some time.

Add Comment Below you will see pictures of one of the craft projects I enjoy making. This t-shirt dress is embellished with crocheted flowers and a crocheted ruffle on the bottom. The belt loops and belt were also crocheted. To go with it, I made a crocheted headband using the "small wheel" design. I like to call it a pinwheel design. I made up the design for the t-shirt but watched a video to learn how to make the headband. You can check out this youtube video if you want to learn how to make one of these headbands yourself. Both of these projects were a lot of fun. We tried these pancakes the other day. They were delicious and really were as fluffy as a cloud. I learned how to make them by watching a cooking video on Swag Bucks. Swag Bucks is a site where you can earn “bucks” by searching, answering a daily poll, playing games, doing tasks, taking surveys, and watching videos. For these stars I used variegated red-white-blue yarn. The weight of yarn and size of crochet hook are not important for this project. If you want bigger stars, use a thicker yarn and bigger crochet hook. If you want smaller stars, use a thinner yarn and a smaller crochet hook. Round 1: Chain 4 and slip stitch into first chain to form ring Round 2: Chain 3; double crochet 9 times into center of ring; slip stitch into top of chain 3 Round 3: chain 1 and, in same stitch sc, half dc, dc, half dc, sc, slip stitch; chain 2; skip one stitch; in next stitch sc, half dc, dc, half dc, sc, slip stitch. Repeat until you have 5 points. After making the 5th point of your star, slip stitch in the space below your first point. Pull yarn through, cut off and weave in ends. For a little more fun, attach a magnet to the back of each star to make it into a “fridgie.” Wal-Mart carries small round magnets with a foam adhesive on the back – 18 pack for about 97 cents in the craft section. If God healed you today of a serious illness, what would you do with the health He has given you? Below is a link to a video of a testimony of a lady in India. God healed her of cancer, and she gave her life to bring the healing message of salvation to needy souls. One Woman's Journey, part 2 As a general rule, I try to upload only my own Bible studies. However, this excerpt from Charles H. Spurgeon’s book, Morning and Evening, was a real blessing to me one morning. It was one of those difficult days, and the Lord brought encouragement as this meditation for morning popped up when I opened up Sword Project. May this little meditation will be an encouragement to each one of you as it was to me. (thoughts at the end my own) “I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” – Isaiah 48:10 Comfort thyself, tried believer, with this thought: God saith, “I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Does not the word come like a soft shower, assuaging the fury of the flame? Yea, is it not an asbestos armour, against which the heat hath no power? Let affliction come – God has chosen me. Poverty, thou mayst stride at my door, but God is in the house already, and he has chosen me. Sickness, thou mayst intrude, but I have a balsam ready – God has chosen me. Whatever befalls me in this vale of tears, I know that he has “chosen” me. If, believer, thou requirest still greater comfort, remember – that you have the Son of Man with you in the furnace. In that silent chamber of yours, there sitteth by your side One whom thou hast not seen, but whom thou lovest; and ofttimes when thou knowest it not, He makes all thy bed in thy affliction, and smooths thy pillow for thee. Thou art in poverty; but in that lovely house of thine the Lord of life and glory is a frequent visitor. He loves to come into these desolate places, that He may visit thee. Thy friend sticks close to thee. Thou canst not see him, but thou mayst feel the pressure of His hands. Dost thou not hear His voice? Even in the valley of the shadow of death He says, “Fear not, I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God.” …Fear not, Christian; Jesus is with thee. In all thy fiery trials, His presence is both thy comfort and safety. He will never leave one whom He has chosen for His own. “Fear not, for I am with thee,” is His sure word of promise to His chosen ones in the “furnace of affliction.” Wilt thou not, then, take fast hold of Christ, and say – “Through floods and flames, if Jesus lead, I’ll follow where He goes.” -- from Morning and Evening by Charles Haddon Spurgeon May this little meditation be an encouragement to each of you, a blessing as you face the trials and burdens that come each day. We may not see the reasons for our trials, but God knows. He has chosen us, and He has chosen just the right trial to refine us for His glory. However, He does not leave us in the fire alone, but the Son of God goes with us through the furnace. He promises, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10) Furthermore, the Lord adds these assurances, “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour.” (Isaiah 43:1-3) We belong to God; we are His. He has called us by our name. When we pass through the floods, He passes through them with us. When we walk through the fire, He walks through it with us. He is our God, the Holy one of Israel, our Saviour. I pray God will use these words to encourage, bless, and uplift. May the Holy Scriptures, and the promises and assurances of the love of God come to your mind and give strength to your heart as you travel the journey of life. Cherry/Peanut Butter Smoothie One of my favorite ways to start the day is with a smoothie. We didn’t have any bananas this morning, but I made do. Besides the cherries and peanut butter, there was whey protein powder in the smoothie; and to give it a little zing, I added an orange flavored Emergen-C packet. Some supplements were added as well. Supplements added to the smoothie: Acidophilus Vit. D Cordyceps and Reishi mushroom powder (chocolate flavored) Also, the whey protein powder has fish oil and flax oil in it Comments: Delicious! 1Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD. (Psalm 150) I ought to praise the LORD, for He is worthy. Praise Him in His sanctuary. Praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts. And praise Him according to His excellent greatness. All the glory belongs to Him. I ought to praise Him with music - with musical instruments (8 listed in this Psalm), with my body (dance), and with my voice (breath). With all of my being I ought to praise the LORD! O give thanks unto Him “Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (Psalm 136:23) Jesus told His disciples, “Ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (See Matthew 10:31) Recently on BBN there was a story about a little girl and a baby robin. The father and mother robin had nested in their yard like they did every spring. The little girl would excitedly watch the baby robins grow and mature and fly away. But one year there was a baby robin that did not learn to fly. Something was wrong with its wing. The little girl prayed and prayed for God to fix the robin’s wing. All through the summer father and mother robin cared for baby. Baby robin grew, and, because it could not fly, it became quite tame. The little girl could just go right up to it, and the robin was not afraid. Soon fall came. It was time for father and mother robin to fly south. The little girl’s daddy took her for a walk in the woods. He explained to her that baby robin would die. Father and Mother robin must fly south. He could kill baby robin so it would be over quickly, and the young bird would not starve to death or freeze in the winter cold. The little girl pleaded with her daddy to wait just two more days, and he agreed. This little girl and her friend took a box and put breathing holes in it and plenty of food for baby robin. Then they collected all their money, just enough to ship the baby bird south to Georgia. The tame bird was easy to catch, and soon they had it snug in its new home. However, when they looked at the bird the next morning, it was already dead. Generally baby robins will not eat in captivity, and so they die. The little girl was heartbroken, but her mother comforted her gently by saying that God cared for little robin. He made the birds, and he loved them. In Matthew 10:29, Jesus said that one sparrow “shall not fall on the ground without your Father.” If God cares so much for tiny little birds, does He not care much more for us? Oh, yes! He loves us much more than this little girl could possibly have loved the baby robin. Jesus says, “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:30,31) Did you ever try to dust the living room furniture, only to have the dust fly up in the air and land back on your surfaces again? That flying dust can not only be a nuisance by keeping your coffee table from looking shiny; it might also be a problem if you breath any of it in. Dust up the nose usually results in "Achoo! Achoo!" But there is a simple remedy. Spray your duster with a mist of water or all-purpose cleaner (that does NOT contain bleach) so that the duster is slightly moist. The dust adheres to the duster and doesn't fly away. The duster does become black more quickly, but you can clean it by washing it in warm water. Then hang it on the clothesline or on a nail to dry. |
